My guess is you are not alone

They would take you guys more seriously if you revoked your current subscription and advising them what it will take to get you to renew.

"LSU no longer cares that we call ourselves Louisiana."

I hope your right but I wouldn't be so sure.

After following this for over 30 years these last few days have shown me that people's opinion over this one way or the other is just as strong as ever and makes me feel we still have long way to go.

I won't get into any analogies over it though.

Exactly. Daily Advertiser trolls don't care if you send them letters and emails. That'll only encourage them to keep reporting on this garbage. They WANT a reaction from you that keeps you engaged in what they're printing.

Just tell them to shove it up their ___ and cancel your subscription. It's not like they're reporting stuff you can't read online via either The Advocate or KATC.

So says their SID. One wouldn't think he wouldn't make such a statement without consent of higher ups. Dr. S has a good relationship with the LSU President. Since back in 1984, LSU has become a national brand leader. They know we are not a threat to them any more than Ohio is a threat to Ohio State.

Let's first see what they say in the Sunday paper.

However, to say that ULM's season last year doubled any recognition we've had is nonsense. Yes, you did get some props from the national media on the win versus Arkansas and near win against Auburn but this was when people thought those teams would be decent. That public love quickly went bye bye when Arkansas and Auburn both combined to equal a wet turd on the field. Nobody was screaming your name and nobody was excited to watch you in a bowl. To only come out and completely fall flat on your face in said bowl only reassured people that your season was not as sacred and special as you thought. The national exposure from said season was so great that ESPN (mothership) wanted to put you on TV how many times this year in primetime? I forgot, they chose to put UL's Ragin Cajuns on instead...I guess that recognition went a long way. Recognition only means anything if you follow up on it.
Their "Magical Season" was only magical in their eyes. They were a one trick pony that rode him till that pony could no longer run.

They can't claim "Recognition" when fans of the team they just beat don't remember them. I was in Little Rock the weekend of our Arkasas game and was just wearing a Ragin Cajun shirt and flag on my care. No other school name. All I heard from their fans were "aww we play y'all again" before the game and then after it was "so good to get one back". After the first 5 I stopped correcting them.

If NLULM wants recognition, they should just go with "University of Monroe". There is no other NCAA school with that name. It also sounds Presidential.

Granted most...including me... have a problem with how Doc handled Athletics...three things do have to be remembered ...he took UL from a Regional University to a Nationally recognized Research University....he left the University completely debt free thereby allowing Dr. Savoie to be aggressive both in Academic construction and our Athletics Master Plan...and 3rd...Dr. a was very aggressive in originally pressing for our name change....

For all of DR A's faults, we would not be talking about this right now had it not been for him. He was the Ricky Bustle of Academics.

Get us to a point and let the future leaders take control.

ULM had a couple of massive name recognition wins as 'ULM' that is how the teams they beat will remember them.

    Why start over yet again?

Unfortunately he stayed far too long beyond that point.
