Can we pull some money and put a "we are LOUISIANA" billboard up near ulm's campus.. This makes me want to go on the attack and do everything in our power to put LOUISIANA out there.

I think there is a ULM billboard somewhere around Alexandria where they tout "We are Louisiana".

In response to questions about the name issue, I would have thought a retired president who nurtured the University for so many years would have taken the opportunity to say "In my time as president of the University of Southwestern Louisiana, the University of Louisiana, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, I always tried to maintain fiscal responsibility within a highly volatile corporate world, while promoting an policy of inclusion and acceptance with a goal of continued growth and accomplishment. I have passed on those principles to my replacement, Dr. Joseph Savoie, who loves this University as I have. I have all confidence in his leadership to continue the process to make this University nationally recognized in all aspects of it's performance. As to the specifics of how this will be accomplished, I suggest you speak to T-Joe.

I think Kyle does get it. What he's trying to get across is that instead of whining about how we're not where we want to be because of somebody else being "unfair" to us, to actually do something about it. Buy your season tickets. Help promote and support Cajun athletics. Get friends to the games, meets and matches to increase revenues.

Watch Rocky's speech in the streets to his son on You Tube, the clip from the last Rocky movie. That's how some of us feel about the situation. Instead of constantly complaining about someone else mistreating us, get out there and prove we should be Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and give others in the state a reason to be proud to have the state's name associated with our brand.

Great job Jay. Point on, and warranted from someone other than us die hard fans. I love the analogies (psoriasis was the best one). As much as this is simple to understand, and the truth, I really don't think anyone outside the Cajun Nation will ever accept it; no matter how many times you explain it to them. It's like the old adage, "you can lead a horse to water, but......."
Thanks again for taking the time to write your piece.

So if I am getting this, NICKNAMES are subject to state law?? So we need to drop the GOLDEN BAND FROM TIGER LAND?? Nickname.... I know its not our state but by this logic, WAREAGLES is no longer appropriate for Auburn.. I am sure I am missing a whole bunch but you get my point..

The truth of it all is that lsua&m and its supporters will determine the outcome of this. There can be no law forcing the ridiculous.. But they can force our hands based upon purse strings. If enough noise is made, there will be a law passed that if we sport ANYTHING.... down to babies diapers.... that does not conform... they will cut off our budget....

And that's where this will end

At the very end of the article say the school from Lafayette will have to play in Monroe on Nov 30-- wow!

This was just about the only Kyle call or post that I could actually stomach and I did agree with him. However, what I loved more, was the guy who called at the end of the hour and called Kyle what he is and has been for years in regards to his professional allegiances.......A Benedict Arnold!!!!!!

I can't count the numerous times I had to listen to him chime in about the Panthers and what a true professional football team was and how a true franchise was run. I also loved how the caller placed Kyle quietly (or not) in the corner on Kyle's ludicrous comment about predicting super bowl glory for the Saints in 2009 blahh.........I wanted to do the same thing but didn't have access to call in.

Doc A had his day, thank God it's over, he should respect the current administration and defer his comments.
