Great job Kevin!
Kevin, please forward said piece to Bill Decker. Please put a note and ask him to read it, not eat it...
Thanks
But Z, don't you know that would all magically change if they get their way and we are prevented from using UL or Louisiana? The Waaaaaaahoax would magically have the newest, biggest, best facilities in the SBC, nay the country! Students from all over the state and country would flock to moanroe making them the largest school in the state. ESPN would permanently move their Gameday broadcast to the banks of Bayou Desaird. And if only UL were forced to use the city tag in every utterance Todd a Berry would suddenly overnight turn into a competent football coach.
ROTFLMFAO !!!!!!!!! Check out the comments. Apparently douchebag Robert Bob Carlson (note his yellow shirt in his photo for clues of his biases) didn't bother to read Kevin's article especially the part about why lsu fans have no dog in this hunt.
First off, when the average person outside of this state sees ULM and ULL, they very often see us as satellite universities which does neither of us any good at all. Second, WE are obviously not the problem with the name thing. You guys just don't get the hypocrisy that you spread with this do you? Have you seen the past helmets and uniforms that had "Louisiana" railed across them after the name change? The only reason you stopped was A) you were getting nowhere with it and B) you were forced to lose the indian moniker and you had to step back and change your name and marketing. Like Jay Walker said, it was a good thing and it worked. Your name and uni's are much sharper than back then and you aren't offending native citizens. Life is good. You thought that branding was going to be great for your university and you didn't mind if we cared when you attempted it......But you do now, especially when we are getting somewhere with it and have had some actual success on the field. . Guess what pal, we've had the "Louisiana" on our jerseys for some time now and never heard crap from many UL Monroe'ers.
The question I have for you, since we are discussing is: Why does my degree from LSU have Louisiana State University Agricultural & Mechanical College but their jersey's and helmets say LSU. That is misleading. I've always wondered this...LOL
Yeah, I'll call you out on this one too. I have no problem with you arguing here since you've done it , so far, with class and I have no problem with that. However, to say that ULM's season last year doubled any recognition we've had is nonsense. Yes, you did get some props from the national media on the win versus Arkansas and near win against Auburn but this was when people thought those teams would be decent. That public love quickly went bye bye when Arkansas and Auburn both combined to equal a wet turd on the field. Nobody was screaming your name and nobody was excited to watch you in a bowl. To only come out and completely fall flat on your face in said bowl only reassured people that your season was not as sacred and special as you thought. The national exposure from said season was so great that ESPN (mothership) wanted to put you on TV how many times this year in primetime? I forgot, they chose to put UL's Ragin Cajuns on instead...I guess that recognition went a long way. Recognition only means anything if you follow up on it.
I didn't put him on a "pedestal". All I said was that, in my opinion, Kyle does get it from the standpoint that too many in our fanbase still seem to spend too much time whining about how LSU or someone else treats us "unfair". I can guaran-damn-tee that the face of our culture change for football, Mark Hudspeth, doesn't complain to people about LSU holding him or the football program down. He goes about his business to do his job and put a winning team on the field regardless of any outside forces.
Hey, let's cut Cajunwaaaaaahoax some slack. It's got to suck being a Hoax fan. It has to really suck being a a Hoax fan in Lafayette having to watch UL winning, growing and advancing while the Waaaaaaaaahoax are......well, the Hoax.
