LOUISIANA - Defending Sun Belt Conference champion Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns and head golf coach Bob Bass announced the signing of Andrew Noto.

Noto is a product of Hahnville High School in Luling, La., where he was the teammate of fellow Cajuns golfers Seth Dufrene (Luling, La.) and Dustin Petit (Luling, La.).

Noto boasted a 73.81 stroke average in 2007. He tied for third at the U.S. Junior Sectional Qualifier at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette.

Despite being a junior golfer, Noto competed in the Louisiana State Amateur Championship where he carded rounds of 79-71-75-74 to finish in a tie for 13th.

At the 35th Annual Southern Junior Championship, he shot 71-73-73 to claim fifth place.

Noto placed third at the Louisiana Junior Amateur Championship at Beaver Creek Golf Club in Zachary, La. At the Amateur Championship, he turned in rounds of 69, 73 and 70.

He had four other top-30 finishes in 2007: AJGA Jerry Pate Andrews Institute Southern Junior (t-14th); LHSAA 5A State Championship (t-15th); AJGA Medicus Preseason at Texarkana (t-19th); and AJGA Fidelity Investments Stars of Texas Junior (t-29th).

Other notable finishes include a runner-up finish at the 2006 Louisiana Junior Amateur Championship. Noto, along with Dufrene and Petit, helped Hahnville HS to the 2005 LHSAA 5A State Championship. Noto teamed up with Dufrene to help HHS to a runner-up finish at the 2006 LHSAA 5A State Championship.

Noto was the 2007 5A Region III medalist, as well as a 2006 5A All-State selection. He was named to the 2006 All-Metro team for the New Orleans area. In 2005, Noto was a All-District 6-5A selection.
