not that is matters but on the ark. website ferguson lists his favorite basketball team as LSU
Two UAFS men’s basketball players made their future plans official Monday afternoon, signing with NCAA Division I programs.
Lester Ferguson signed with the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and Aramie Brooks signed with Northwestern State University during the early signing period.
Ferguson, a 6-foot-9 forward from Baton Rouge, La., is averaging about seven points and three rebounds per game for the undefeated and No. 11-ranked Lions.
He also received interest from North Texas, Baylor, Ball State, Duquesne, LaSalle, the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and Iowa.
Louisiana-Lafayette competes in the Sun Belt Conference with Arkansas State and the University of Arkansas-Little Rock.
UAFS coach Josh Newman said Ferguson’s parents were influential in Ferguson making his decision.
“It’s kind of close to home, about an hour a way,” Ferguson said. “I wanted to be where my mom could come see me play and my dad could come and see me play. It will feel good to be back home playing ball again.”
Ferguson was a gangly 190-pounder when he joined the Lions at semester break a year ago after graduating from high school in December. Now, he’s a strapping 210 pounds.
“He came in here and I think he weighed 190 pounds, and he wasn’t very physical,” Newman recalled. “He’s really matured over the time that he’s been here. We’re very happy with him, and he’s grown in a lot different ways — athletically and academically.”

Arkansas-Fort Smith sophomore Lester Ferguson, who signed with the Cajuns back in November, is taking his official visit to UL this weekend with his parents. The 6-10 forward/center is shooting 63 percent from the floor this season, averaging 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. The Lions are 14-1 this season and ranked fifth in the NJCAA national poll.
Hey Cajun T, any word on where Lester Furguson is? I talked to a couple of the players at the Robert Lee tourney and they said they hadn't seen or heard from him and didn't even know where he was.
He avg. 7 points and 3 rebs.? correct me if i'm wrong but that doesn't sound very good at a juco. I'm glad to see we are getting some height though.
he was offered by baylor and nebraska and chose us!! good job robert lee! we sure are taking on some height. wouldn't it be great if they could all play? coach lee might even have the luxury of putting the red shirt on a couple of freshmen signees and begin to stockpile some talent. now wouldn't that be a change for the better?
