Looks like quarterback play was average so I say he has a shot to play early. Germayne is a Junior this year so he has an inside track.
You forgot the Nicholls game. Nicholls blew them out 58-0 and really sealed the deal on their QB situation that game. All three of their Qb's got hurt in that game and they ended the game with the second team Qb back in the game playing on one leg. He couldn't hardly move and about all he could do was hand the ball off. Nicholls tied the NCAA record with four ints returned for TD's in that game.

First team Qb hurt his wrist. The second team Qb hurt his leg on a weird play where he didn't even get hit. He was rolling out (or scrambling, don't remember) and then just dropped the ball and fell to the turf holding his leg. Nicholls recovered the fumble. The Freshman third teamer got his shoulder hurt later and they had to put the 2nd teamer with the hurt leg back in.

Dosen't the new ncaa rules mean he has to sit out this season. Meaning he would only have one year to play?

My bad, I thought that the NCAA had voted on something about that must have been dreaming.

Starting in 2008, you can't transfer if you are a senior period. He will be a junior in eligibility.

  6. UL Football Re: Hundley finds a home

Germayne Edmond, who started 10 games in 2007 for the Demons, will not play this year as he continues to rehabilitate from surgery on both shoulders.

With Edmond redshirting this season, the Demons' quarterback position will likely be in the hands of either Drew Branch or Louisiana-Lafayette transfer John Hundley.

Hundley, meanwhile, went through spring practice with the Demons. He took the bulk of the snaps in spring.

"It's pretty much wide open," Stoker said. "John probably got most of the work in the spring. We'll get Drew back and we'll let them fight it out."

I think John Hundley will do great at NW, he has all the tools. Hes going to surprise a lot of people this year. People also underestimate his mobility.

  8. UL Football Hundley named starting QB for NSU opener

NATCHITOCHES -- John Hundley has been the man at quarterback for Northwestern State through most of the preseason. Now he will be when it counts.

Hundley, a junior transfer from UL, was named the starter for NSU's season opener against Texas A&M-Commerce next Saturday.

"He's looked good," coach Scott Stoker said of Hundley. "He's thrown the ball good. He's shown he can make some plays with his feet."

Bobby Petrino quits on his team in the middle of the season and everybody wants to lynch him. John Hundley does the same thing and everybody is saying how good he will be at a DII. (Championship Subdivision blah blah blah).

The bottom line is he couldn't start here so he went to an inferrior school so that he could play. Sounds a little bit like Alley Broussard syndrome at that midget school he ended up at in missouri or wherever. Don't even remember the name of the school...shows how much I cared.

And whoever thinks NSU is on the same level as UL has lost their damn mind.
