Each week Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns football coaching staff honors its outstanding performers from the previous weeks’s game by designating them as Players of the Game.
This week’s Offensive Player of the Game award was given to the Offensive Line and Tight Ends. They did an excellent job blocking which allowed Michael Desormeaux to rush for a career high 175 yards becoming the third player in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. In addition, running back Tyrell Fenroy ran for 100 yards.
The defensive players of the game were Gerren Blount and Rodney Hardeway. Blount sealed the game with his third interception of the season. Hardeway made seven tackles, all solo stops, and had school record four sacks in the Cajuns 34-24 win at Middle Tennessee. He had two sacks in the fourth quarter as the Cajuns shut down the MT offense (-12 yards 4Q). He was also named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week.
This week the entire special teams were awarded the Special Forces Players of the Game. Every player on special teams was praised after the game for their excellent coverage on kickoffs and punts.
The Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week was Jawanza Mitchell.
The Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week was Andy Richman.
The Cajuns honored Rodney Hardeway with the Hammer Award for defensive biggest hit. The Kuhuna Award for special teams biggest hit went to Frantz Accime.
