Here is the deal as I had posted pre game ---Crowd would have been about 32K before the 100% chance of rain, hurricane, and TV-----When the rain finally started well the crowd stayed in the tents(cold beer and great food beats sitting in the rain), the out of towners got hurricaned away(real concern and terrible driving conditions), and some people just said that staying home wasn't a bad option (No rain, great food, comfort, and choice of drinks and save $50-$100)---Still if you go back a few years we are talking with a 2-2 record that maybe we get 9-12K!!!!
we never heckled the mother at all, that is the thingGee. I can't decide who has less class---a fan who hec kled a player's mother, or the mother who got upset. Way to represent!
Do you want our fans to hand the other team cupcakes and bring them water and Gatorade? Heckling the opposing team is what the students are supposed to do. They're not cursing out the other team's fans, which is what gives LSU fans a bad name.
Do you want other teams to think Cajun Field is the toughest place to play or the nicest, comfiest place?
I was impressed with the texas state coach not kicking an on side kick at the 1 minute mark left in the game. I know that the game was all but over and he had no chance of winning but is was still a classy act. UL should not have put their hands team on the field as honestly there was no way UT State was going to score 24 points in one minute. Even if there was an on side kick, why risk injury to your starters. The fact that no onside kick was made was to me a gesture of thanks by the UT State coach to the UL coaching staff recognizing that UL had pulled its starters well into the 3rd quarter. Good to see sportsmanship still exists.
Please send the above post to the Nicholls coach.
Best heckle ever... The back up quarterback for North Texas was named "Roy". Some loudass sitting next to us along the rail starts yelling, "Roy! Roy! Get in there!" Roy took off for the field, then stopped, smiled a sad smile at us, then hung his head....
Poor Roy.
While their offensive production wasn't great, I thought their freshman QB ran their zone read very well. While cannot match Mike Desormeaux physically he was just as adept at pulling that ball out at the last minute and deceiving everyone as to who had the ball. Much like Kolton Browning he could be a player who gives us headaches the next three years.
