There is an awful lot that can be done with that. And, the gator drawing that is on this thread could be made into a wonderful costume for an on-field mascot. We could have a lot of fun with this and it would just continue to grow and become a great marketing tool as well.
We could save alot of money on this gator thing too. I'm sure the old "Alphonse the alligator" icegator costume is lying around some where. We could just buy it for like what 5 bucks? Just dye it red and presto you got fideaux.
This is all in jest, for any of you who thought i was being serious. Of course the new mascot costume has to be a new design.
DAMNDEST THREAD I'VE SEEN IN A LOOOONG TIME. THE WINTER BLAHS HAVE SET IN. FOR SURE!!
The beak on the chicken and the long jaws on the gator give instant personality. When the pepper moves its head I can't tell the difference.
We actually already have real, live gators on campus. It's just too easy of a transition from the pepper to the gator. And these are some great ideas that are being thrown out their. Now if the higher powers could get it through their head that NO ONE likes the damn pepper and get rid of it, maybe this gator thing could happen. The pepper reminds me of the Burger King guy with that constant smile on his face.
The problem is, our athletic complex is not on campus. So, few people ever set foot on campus after graduating and certainly not on game days. Having some kind of sanctuary around the athletic complex with a couple of gators in an enclosed habitat would draw people and add to the total game day experience for fans. Picture this: Gators make distinctive sounds, if you have ever heard one. Just think of inside the stadium just prior to the team coming out of the tunnel, the gator sounds are played on the intercom, the gator mascot is out on the field and the whole stadium is singing "Louie Louie".
