I wonder if they will consider opening a Bengals & Bandits branded store in Tuscaloosa? Think that would go over well? We know the answer to that one.

They should have done a DBA (doing business as) and rebranded the Lafayette store with a more generic name and then sell Cajuns, LSU, Saints, and others merchandise.

But that would subvert the modus operandi for opening that store...to make a part of Lafayette feel like Baton Rouge.

I think it should be pointed out that 95% of Lafayette probably does not have a problem with the store name considering that they are selling majority Cajuns gear.

I'm not advocating shopping there or not. But, I don't think the name of the store will promote or doom their business.

It should be though. At least Walk-On's was only opened by LSU basketball players and the place isn't a fun quip on the LSU mascot name. That makes it much easier to frequent the place. I know they are trying to sell Cajuns gear and win us over but for ____'s sake...this is like a Tea Party member shopping for Karl Rove shirts at a place called Obamart. Mind boggling is the only word I can come up with.
