Also, according to Rivals, we have a verbal from a QB, Blaine Gauthier from Lutcher, La. This guy threw a lot of TD's!

UL's football team entered December with only a handful of recruits verbally committed to sign with the program on National Signing Day, which is Feb. 6. The Ragin' Cajuns made up plenty of ground in the past two weeks, receiving at least six new commitments. The two biggest commitments - which are non-binding until a recruit signs a letter of intent - came from Lutcher quarterback Blaine Gautier (6-0, 194) and Baton Rouge St. Michael offensive lineman Evan Ruiz (6-4, 285). Gautier got offers from UL, Southeastern Louisiana and Nicholls State and was in contact with Central Michigan, Memphis and McNeese State. He committed to the Cajuns last Sunday. "They were the first Division I offer I got," said Gautier, who was offered by UL in November. "I went on an official visit (two weekends ago), and I really liked it, the coaches, the facilities, the academics. "It just felt like the right move for me." I am far from a recruiting guru.. Dont subscribe to Rivals.com... Dont understand the star system.. What I DO understand is that the people we are chasing and getting are apparently not worthy of any othe D-I programs. When I measure the value of a recurit committment I look to see we signed people who considered at a minimum, La Tech, So Miss, Tulane... a few that drew offers from SEC schools... maybe every now and again a Brian Mitchell type steal away from A&M@BR... But geez.. Big headline.. We won a recruiting war with Southeastern and Nicholls State...

Oh yea.. and we are young...


OkOk... I'll wait and see where the rest of recruiting goes but had to vent....
