    Jake Delhomme from 1A Teurlings.
    Donald Richard from 2A Kaplan.

Other schools have had some pretty good ones, too.

Texas Tech's Donny Anderson from 1A Stinnet [TX] was a stud in the NFL
So was SMU and Mt. Pleasant [2A], TX QB Don Meridith.
Billy Simms is from Hooks [1A], TX
Jerry Rice is from Itta Bena, MS
Ladanlian Tomlinson played in 2A in Texas
So did Michael Clayton [in Louisiana @ Christian Life].
If I'm not mistaken, Nebraska had an Outland Trophy winner not too long ago that played 6 man football in HS.
Demetrious Hookfin from 1A Kentwood was a fairly good DB at LSU&A&MC

Small schools are not short on talented players; they are just under-recruited.

    You ARE forgiven. lol

Oh, just three more. The last two Super Bowl MVP's played at 2A Neuman, and neither ever won a State Championship there in football.
And their dad played for Drew HS in the lowest football playing classification in MS.

Not that either of the younger Mannings was underrecruited. lol

But dad's first game at Ole Miss, he was the fourth team QB on the FRESHMAN team.

Track & Field Re: Ragin' Cajuns of UL gets two more commitments

At one-time a seventh-string quarterback on his college team, he was still No. 3 on the depth chart when the game began that would change his fate forever. His once-beaten team was losing 24-14 in the 4th when he took the field, after the 2 QB's in front of him on the depth chart went down with injuries. He came off the bench and threw for 154 yards and a touchdown in the final 11 minutes to lead his team to a 31-24 victory. He went on to complete the season with no more losses, resulting in a National Championship.

    Who is he?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news.... I know many have been hot on the recruiting trail, like myself. This class coming in does not seem to be as promising as once thought. A couple of decent corners, Benoit, Ruiz, and Gauthier. Thats about it. Losing those guys late really hurt. Time will tell how good this class will be

  8. UL Football S Day

When pen meets paper today, verbal commitments become official for high school football recruits across the country.

UL added two more names to its 2008 recruiting class on the heels of today's signing ceremonies.

As first reported at theadvertiser.com on Tuesday, Northside cornerback Adrian Breaux and Pierre Hill, a receiver from Archbishop Shaw in Marrero, have committed to play football for the Ragin' Cajuns.

Both are expected to sign a binding letter of intent today with UL.

"I think he's a real player," Northside coach Vincent DeRouen said of Breaux. "He's kind of raw because he was originally a baseball player, but he can cover and comes up and hits pretty good."

At 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Breaux has the size college coaches want in a cornerback. He's also been timed at 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

Its only not as good if you look at star rankings. This is a really good class...and for the record you mention Benoit but I dont think he is even a top 15 member of this class.

I couldn't agree more. I think this class can be solid but I'm just not as excited. Especially with the uncertainty with Glazer. He is the big piece in my opinion. We have several guys who are looking to play different positions as in Osbourne and Wilson along with Melvin White and Benoit. I think one person that is a sleeper in the class is D. Booker. We are going to need some depth and talent at RB and he is tall and will likely put some nice beef on his frame in the near future. It would have been a special class with Ambrose and/or D.Johnson.
