Being that it's a road game, I'll give the edge to Akron in the 1st qtr. We will win this game convincingly though.

    Cajuns 38
    Zips 20

He may not throw it 35 times but he will have to be efficient when he does and I expect some big plays. From who? I'm not sure. Jamal Robinson is down on confidence right now and needs a good game to get it back. Butler could be a guy or a good guess would be Surgent who has the speed to blow by defenders. I also wouldn't be surprised to see McGuire get a lot of looks in the passing game and possibly take a screen to the house. I think we run for close to 200 yards but I think we need to pass it well to win
----Did you not see our new weapon this year??? Devon Scott is un---defendable---did you see his speed on his crossing reception??? That is a sloter!!!

Well, I saw him the 2 times he touched the ball. I'm sure he has talent and speed but I'll wait and declare him the next great slot receiver once he's actually had to do it in crunchtime and has a bit more experience. Know what I mean?

I just wanted to pass along a few thoughts from my perspective as a Zip fan. Congratulations on the victory and I was very impressed with your football team. Just as I worried, Broadway was a real difference maker. Akron needed to play a clean game to have a shot and it just wasn't to be. Robinson (#15) is a terrific talent at WR. He was basically uncoverable. Harris is a nice, strong back. The Cajun defense is very fast. I really felt while watching the game from my seat, that Louisiana is every bit as good as Michigan (I also made the trip to Ann Arbor). Only UCF on our schedule looks to be a better team.

Best of luck for the rest of 2013. I'll be rooting for you until the Zips make the return trip to Lafayette in 2015. I plan to join them to witness, first hand, the spectacle that is Ragin' Cajun tailgating! We'll see how much the UA football program has progressed by then. From today's vantage point, the Zips will have to improve considerably to compete in the Swamp.

Lastly, hats off to Hudspeth for the gutsy onside kick. You can tell one of his strongpoints is his "feel" for game momentum. That was pure genius. I know he had a few questionable decisions earlier (fake FG comes to mind), but when the key point in the game arrived he was ready. Hope he's in Lafayette for a while.

    Good luck!!

Thanks for the kind words, JZ84. You guys played tough. The fact that you guys turned it over on your first two drives and not only held us to 7 there, but that it was still a 4-point game midway through the 4th, is a testament to how hard you guys played. Great job, best of luck the rest of the season, and see you in 2015! Make sure you sample everybody's food; you won't leave hungry!

You're a class act Johnnyzip84. I was impressed by your Zips too. They made it a contest. Your QB has a gun and you've got some speedy WRs. Your QB had guts with that obvious painful leg. I hope he mends fast.

Good luck the rest of the season, and we can't wait for your return trip to Lafayette. You and all of your Zip friends will be very welcome at our tailgates. Bring all of them.

    Good luck to the Zips!

Now don't forget Johnny Z----When the time comes you come on here and we will get your ___ fixed up with all that is needed for a good time as guests of the guys on this board!!! I think another factor was the mutual respect of the head coaches and staffs of the teams---HUD knew that your guy was turning the Zs around like pronto---might not be 180 degrees yet but it is getting in that needed direction!!!

I will definitely be taking you all up on your generous offers! Very much looking forward to it in due time. I'll peak in to see the Cajuns on TV when I get a chance the rest of the year. Broadway is that much fun to watch (not so much when he's killing your team though lol). Keep it geauxing!
