THANK YOU! The only reason I've been able to make all the games this season is because I usually get off at 4 or 5. And I'm a freakin' student, I NEED to be there. It's not fair for me to ask off every weekend we have a football game. There's 20 other people in my department that want that weekend off for their own purposes. Plus, I can't afford to take off that many hours.

I like the 6pm start in the fall, especially because it's so hot and humid outside. Who doesn't like a night game?

I like the late games, but from time to time, I would like to see a noon game as a change of pace.

This is so COOL Re: 2007 What time should UL sporting events start?

In general, 6 p.m. is great for UL athletic events, but a 4 p.m. homecoming game may allow much older alums to travel farther distances for that game. That is one game that my parents make every year...Look out for those Red Jackets on Homecoming day!!! Evening baseball games are great and softball games are nice in the afternoon or late mornings on weekends... It's a great way to catch a Cajun double-header...Ladies softball followed by baseball...C'est bon!!!

I agree with Turner for baseball times, 6PM for football (unless a major network puts us in a nationally televised 2:30pm game, due to our high future national appeal), and 7PM for basketball. I like to catch a meal before basketball games, so I prefer they stay at 7ish. I can also get over from BR in time for a weekday game.

I definitely prefer the 6PM football games over 4PM. 4PM stunk. 6PM allows for plenty of tailgating, people coming from work, and the game ends at a reasonable hour, even for families (come on, it's Saturday night). I have heard people complain about having young kids and the game times. In BR, a Saturday night also generates about $50k in babysitter revenue. Someday, UL football is going to have that problem as well (I hope), since no one, for any reason, is going to miss a game if they can possibly figure a way to get there.

I agree with that because of the atmosphere of an evening game. Also like a change of pace with the baseball games being at 2 on sat and 1 on sun.

I like the fact that it gives the student body, who usually have to work, to get to the games. Also, as hot as it gets down here, the evening games are cooler than day games.

I always liked the 7 PM starts (they started at 7:30 when I was in school) but have liked the 6 PM starts this football season. I wonder how that would work for weeknight basketball. Is that too early for some regular attendees?

It should be noted that last year when we started at 4 PM the home schedule was back loaded toward the end of the season and the weather was cooler. This season it was front loaded and have showed up to just about every game in shorts so I'm glad they start at 6 instead of 4.

I like this poll. Last year a lot of us complained about the 4pm start and there were quite a few people on here that bashed us for complaining about the start time.

I haven't noticed anyone complaining about the 6pm start time. It's a great compromise for those who think 7pm is too late. Just being at the homecoming game this weekend at 4pm the sun was bearing down on the student side and it wasn't the best feeling in the world.

I always loved football at night. It's cool to mix in a different start time. I'd like a 8 pm game mixed in there late in the season, but that is just me.

Anyway.. attendance was doing well at the beginning of the season. Last 2 games was just down right horrible.
