UL needs to be proactive in communicating with the public on the start date of this major project. To my knowledge, bids are in, a contractor selected, and approval granted by the UL System. There was talk about breaking ground immediately. Perhaps now it will be immediately AFTER the season ends. In any event, how about an article by Buckley or a news release by the university regarding the timeline. It will also kill any speculation that this is being delayed, like the LA Tech end zone project.

I saw this on KATC the other night. I got kinda confused on which phase they were reporting on having financial security. They talked about the whole $115 Million plan but I kept wonder if they were talking about Phase 1 but then remember that they already have that money secured. been thinking about all week

I saw Farmer at a speaking engagement yesterday. I'm not sure where you heard about Phase 2? He did say that Phase 1 groundbreaking will occur this semester. When pressed he said probably October. Hope this helps.

They made no mention of phases. They also said they were looking at getting approval for an 1100 car parking garage on campus in this article. The parking garage had nothing to do with the Athletic master plan. I suspect the reporter did not know that there is a Campus master plan and an athletic master plan and the result is a news article that confused instead of being informative. (imagine that)
