We won't ever get the next best 15 players from Acadiana so people need to give that up. We need to get the best players we can get and just win.

Now back to golf. I would live to see us become a regional power in golf, unfortunately I think the lack of quality courses in the area hurts us.

I think that part of the horse farm should be a UL practice facility!!!! an indoor net type thing and putting and chipping deal or whatever golfers do!!!

Not to beat a dead horse (ha!) but I believe that an18 hole course was on the drawing board at one time. Would have been the Cajuns home course. Public green fees would have covered the cost of building and maintenance. The fossil nixed the idea!

You don't think Oakbourne & La Triomphe are quality courses?

Yes for this area, but no where near the best when it comes to great courses near universities. Plus there are a limited number of courses around here to play.

They sure as hell don't compare to the RTJ courses around Auburn, Troy, UAB, Alabama or South Al.

I think Coach Sliman is doing a great job and we will be a solid program, but having a greater number if great courses available for golfer to play is crucial to getting great players IMO.

I guess we'll have to get the state to invest a major piece of the state employee retirement saving into golf courses like Alabama did.............. I can see that happening.
