I agree with this 100%. I am putting my money into the football program by being an RCAF member and buying season tickets. I am paying for this program and I will give my opinion.
Far from calling for his head, I am glad that we will probably get to keep him for next year. He may not be a special coach, but he shook up the good old boy network and made them realize that they were sitting on a gold mine in Lafayette and now we are becoming what we always could have been.

I certainly understand and accept it. To say you are all bent out of shape because we lost those two games... is silly. But, I'd like to see UL... at some point in this program growth... do some of the things that so many other mid majors have done. They have played season openers, mid season, and season ending games against top 25, much less not-top-25 BCS programs... and not just won... but presented a prepared plan to take on that challenge for a full 60 minutes.
I expect our rising program to make any contest... and I mean "any" contest... in football... a contest.
+1. I expected more these last two games. Since we have still shown that we cannot hang w/ the big dogs yet, I would much rather play Kentucky, South Florida, Central Florida, Duke, Vandy. Any those teams are still AQ teams that would give us some money and we might get a win.

Never said I was president of anything. I will defend your right to speak your mind on here. I may not agree with you but hey that's okay. I don't recall if someone has actually called for Hud's head but they were attacking him, Broadway and the entire team. Those people can cry and wring their hands all you want. I'm just trying to give those people a different perspective. If we win the title this year, what will these first two games really matter? I'm worried about our defense and special teams coverage. If we don't drill Nicholls into the ground, I will start to sharpen my axe for Hud. I made some enemies on here calling for Bustle's head years before we let him go. I think at least one is still ____ed because I was right. I find it funny that I'm trying to be a voice of reason defending our most successful coach in school history.

He benched 225lbs 25 times. He doesn't need your defense.

Really captain obvious? I thought he was a couch potato. When fans start attacking the most successful coach in school history along with the team, I will defend them.

Good to know someone around here is doing some defending because so far this season the Cajun D backs have done very little of it.

We need to be like our opponents the last 2 weeks---Arky after a horrible season opens up to a full house to play the Cajuns---KState falls to a lower division team and packs the house to play the Cajuns with die hard fans---See ALL of you Saturday at Cajun Field---INSIDE the stadium, dressed in red, and bringing some NOISE!!!!

That is a very succinct and salient point Boomer.

As much as we would love to be, we are not there yet. The folks calling for Hud's head and getting down on the team and players I think is childish at this point. I didn't direct this to you or any one poster for that matter. There are a few that are acting like the season is over. It's time to put it behind us and put on our big girl panties. We have a lot of football still left. We have still have a chance to do some things that we've never done before like win the conference outright.
0-2 to the two teams that just beat us was expected by many and by no means an omen for the rest of the year or something that would stop us from reaching our goals of winning a conference title and going to a bowl but if what you've seen in the first two weeks hasn't, at the least, concerned you about the prospects for the rest of the season........? This team has a lot of work to do just to be able to compete for a conference title the way its played so far.

I think for most people it's not losing to these teams, it's the way we performed in the games that is the cause for negativity. Mainly, the overhyped notion that our offense would be the best in school history. And, that our defense would be much improved.

Not saying that both can't still happen, but there is nothing to take from the first two games to make you think that they will fulfill these lofty projections.
