We need to be like our opponents the last 2 weeks---Arky after a horrible season opens up to a full house to play the Cajuns---KState falls to a lower division team and packs the house to play the Cajuns with die hard fans---See ALL of you Saturday at Cajun Field---INSIDE the stadium, dressed in red, and bringing some NOISE!!!!

That is a very succinct and salient point Boomer.

I didn't direct this to you or any one poster for that matter. There are a few that are acting like the season is over. It's time to put it behind us and put on our big girl panties. We have a lot of football still left. We have still have a chance to do some things that we've never done before like win the conference outright.
0-2 to the two teams that just beat us was expected by many and by no means an omen for the rest of the year or something that would stop us from reaching our goals of winning a conference title and going to a bowl but if what you've seen in the first two weeks hasn't, at the least, concerned you about the prospects for the rest of the season........? This team has a lot of work to do just to be able to compete for a conference title the way its played so far.

I think for most people it's not losing to these teams, it's the way we performed in the games that is the cause for negativity. Mainly, the overhyped notion that our offense would be the best in school history. And, that our defense would be much improved.

Not saying that both can't still happen, but there is nothing to take from the first two games to make you think that they will fulfill these lofty projections.

The defense has been the most alarming thing to me. However, they weren't going up against the Belt. Saturday will tell us a lot about this team.

Wait, we don't learn anything from playing BCS teams, but we will learn something playing an FCS team? Don't sound right to me.

If we don't beat Nicholls then you can crank up the hysteria. I don't think HUD or this team will let that happen.

This argument does not make any sense to me. If you saw the game then you know that any team, whether they are a Sun Belt team or Alabama, could have made those throws to wide open recievers. The team we played could have been comeaux and their qb would have completed those passes.

The way the cornerbacks played off the receivers was a curious thing. You are right. Anyone could have picked up 5-8 yard chunks with that defense. It makes you wonder why?

HUD said today that was on him, it was because of getting burned deep last year. I think that we will see a change in that philosophy. We saw it some in the second half.
