With backup catchers Carlos Corporan and Max Stassi on the seven-day concussion disabled list and starter Jason Castro nursing a sprained right knee injury, the Astros landed catcher Matt Pagnozzi from the Braves in exchange for cash considerations. The 6-2, 215-pound Pagnozzi, who hasn’t been in the majors since 2011, spent the season with the Class AAA Gwinnett Braves. He hit .210 with six home runs and 31 RBIs over 90 games at Gwinnett this season. Castro left Monday’s loss after spraining his right knee Monday in the first inning, exiting in the second.
