Did anyone know that Bustle passed on Trindon Holliday?
I find that hard to believe....
An article says that Bustle pulled his scholarship offer.
Anyone have any insight on this?

You know all I can do is scratch my head at this point and wonder. I think I'll join Ron and make an offering to the porceline god.
Did you guys read the whole article. Practically nobody knew this guy was going to be what he is.....I know Bustle has made his fair share of mistakes, and I'm not his biggest fan right now, but come on.....
It's easier for LSU to take fliers, they are so loaded....this one worked out in Spades, but I don't blame Bustle for not taking the same chance.....
CK, LSU did their homework. We can't use a guy with 4.3 speed?
What clinched an offer for Holliday from LSU was a simple 5-yard run against St. Helena in a quarterfinal playoff game. "Trindon took a 6-1, 230-pound linebacker and drove him backwards," Masterson said. "Coach Fisher saw that on film and realized Trindon's toughness."

Later in the article, it said he only had three offers, LSU, Southern Miss and Southern.
And so did Southern Miss and Southern. And no one else. USC didn't offer, Nebraska didn't offer, La Tech, La Monroe.....not even McNeese. No doubt LSU is better at figuring these things out (and Saban is one of the best) than UL.....but this is one of those that is more obvious after the fact. Hell even Miles didn't know what to do with him at first.
We need bigger, faster Defensive ends, bigger faster linebackers, bigger faster offensive linemen.......that is what we need to focus on. LSU can afford to take chances with 5'5" speed freaks.
Of course we could use him but the point is moot anyway, if you are Trindon Holliday do you take the UL offer or the LSU offer? No brainer for a track standout and football player from Zachary. We could have offered him three schoarships and it wouldn't have mattered.
Also, He signed in 2005. That's the same year that we signed Fenroy and Wallace. Maybe he waited too long, we recieved commitments from both of these guys, so Bustle pulled the offer because he didn't want to sign 3 running backs. There's no point in getting upset about it if you don't know the full story. Do you remember how excited everyone was about signing Wallace? Look who turned out to be the better back. (That's not a knock on Wallace, but Fenroy is very, very good.)
In my opinion, we got the two best players that fit our system.
How many teams passed on Fenroy?
I do find it disturbing that Bustle offered a scholarship to someone he had not ever seen.
Or is that a little dramatic license by the writer?
