LAFAYETTE — As the dust settles from Saturday’s implosions, University of Louisiana administrators are already thinking about the future.

McCullough and Voorhies halls, two men’s dormitories that had stood on the campus’ west end for four decades, were imploded Saturday to make way for Legacy Park, an apartment-style housing complex that will accommodate nearly 470 students. Neither dorm had housed students in more than two years.

The $15.2 million project will get under way March 1, said Lisa Landry, the university’s director of student housing.
