Whatever year it was; he was eligable a year earlier than expected. He would have been in LSU's backfield if he hadn't and I love that he is here.

If Leonard Fournette was not coming out of high school next year, LSU would have offered McGuire. Fournette is just so good they are going all in to get him. McGuire was our top recruit for a reason. He has that extra gear that none of our other backs have.
Lets get this season started already!

Mike Detillier talked about McGuire on the Mr. Bitter show yesterday. He said that McGuire is one of the top three HS players from his part of the state in the last 20 years. He also broke some type of all star game record in 1 1/2 quarters of play. I believe the all star game was for river parish players. That kind of analysis is what tells me he may go pro after three years. As far as the folks who thought he would not be recruited until next year, they thought he would not be eligible. Of course we are thrilled that he is. Coach Bustle probably had a similar decision back in 2005. Deciding to play true freshman Tyrell Fenroy helped us share the league title that year.

I thought I read somewhere that he graduated early because he would have been 19 and too old for HS sports. I know he also had eligibility issues but, I thought he was under the radar because everyone had pegged him to be a recruit this year. I could have sworn I read that somewhere.
