Supposedly he can throw 90+ and won't be given chance at pitcher.

He is a very, very good defensive player, but was not the best option at the plate as discussed. He was frequently used late in games as a defensive replacement. Four schools in four years is above the mean. Hopefully, he'll wind up with a degree from somewhere. Good Luck Sam. I enjoyed watching you at 3rd.
I don't know too many athletes who are happy sitting on the bench----I was miserable my freshman year at UL just kicking --but damn the Giroud kid was GREAT for the Cajuns this year and I don't think that the kid was better than Trahan or the rest of the infield!!!
Who struggled at the plate and got a bunch of opportunities? Not a very good way to leave a program. You couldn't cut it, sack up and move on.
I think his complaints about other players getting a chance to battle through a slump were more at someone like Compton who struggled a lot but the coaches left him in most of the year. That's a stupid comparison, namely because Compton has done it here before and he didnt have a legit backup whereas at 3B, Shug was crushing it.
Also, Butler struggled and was on the bench a lot same as Carriere but he got it turned around without extra playing time and was killing it the last couple months.
Wish him well. Fact: it was his position to lose early in year. He didn't produce.....his teammate did & did it with impressive numbers .No one to blame but himself.
You don't take out a hot .400 hitter so your .200 hitter can play.
You will see more and more of this as the"everybody gets a trophy" generation gets older. Some kids today can't possibly imagine there might be someone better than them. Their whole lives they have been told how good they are and they are the best. Also, now with all the travel teams available almost every kid gets to play. They can't handle rejection.
Defensively he was fun to watch, offensively it was a nightmare. He was left in early on because of his glove, but his bat never caught up with glove. Good luck.
Hell Butler was benched for a while and Compton was benched and Conrad went to first and Leonards to second!!!! So where is this unfair treatment coming from???
