ARLINGTON — With a scholarship offer to UCLA serving as major bargaining power, Max Stassi fell to the fourth round of the 2009 baseball draft. At that same time, Venezuelan righthander David Martinez had barely landed his improbable chance to play minor league ball in the United States.
