Lefthanded reliever Travis Blackley, who was designated for assignment last week by the Astros, has been traded to the Texas Rangers for a player to be named or cash considerations. Blackley, whom the Astros acquired from Oakland via trade on April 4 after he had been designated for assignment by the Athletics, was 1-1 with a 4.89 ERA over 42 games this season. He was more than a situational lefthander for the Astros, pitching in high leverage situations late at times.
