OAKLAND – As Chris Young’s shot soared through the air late Tuesday night, sailing inches away from the left field foul pole, the Astros nervously wondered if the Bellaire High graduate had tormented his hometown team yet again. “No!” Chris Carter said to himself. “Get foul, get foul.” The umpires rightfully called the ball foul right away, but Athletics manager Bob Melvin convinced the crew to review the call.
