LAFAYETTE — LaMarcus Allen couldn’t have gotten through the last year without his football family.
Allen, a reshirt freshman wide receiver for the UL football team, tore one of his knees up and missed out on the 2012 season after being expected to challenge for playing time at what was probably the team’s deepest position that season.
The New Iberia Senior High graduate said he underwent surgery to repair the injury to his anterior cruciate ligament, and the ensuing months of therapy with strong support from his teammates.
“To a point I did expect (the support), because I see the true character” of his teammates said Allen during the team’s media day activities this past Monday. “It made me tighter with my team. It made me stronger because of that (support).”
