After both standout starting offensive guard Daniel Quave (knee) and backup offensive guard Jeremy Sparks (lower leg) both were carted off with injuries late in Friday's practice, Hudspeth was asked about offensive-line concerns. "My No. 1 concern right now is to … find out about the severity of everything," he said.
Extent of the injuries was not immediate disclosed, but more may be made known today.
Hudspeth said that if the injuries are serious "we're gonna have to do a little shuffling around."
"We do have some depth, luckily," he said, "but any time you have injuries at that position you can't afford many of them.
"So we'll have to reevaluate everything," Hudspeth added, "and still look to get our best five on the field."
Hudspeth said backup tackle Jarad Martin can move inside to guard if need be. The junior from West Jefferson High near New Orleans played in six games as a reserve at left tackle last season.
"(But) let's hope for the best," Hudspeth said. "We'll cross that bridge when we know a little bit more."
