South Central Louisiana Technical College will soon get a much needed building upgrade. The school will receive $3.7 million in state funds to replace temporary Butler buildings on campus with permanent structures.
The college trains thousands of men and women in the marine, oil, and gas industry each year.
Program Director Earl Meador says the old buildings are, in some ways, hindering expansion of current and future programs.
"To meet the modern age of the community we serve, we need nice classrooms for them to work in," says Meador.
