Is this our last season for sure with Russell?

    I LOVE THEM!

Fleur-de-lis helmets look great. Always hated the off-center Ragin Cajuns helmets. Have to agree with KraginCajun that the uniforms are completely underwhelming. Last year's were much better, save for the pink sleeves.

Football contract expires after this season. Expect a change in 2014.

White face masks on white helmets would complete the whites. Also, no red pants this year.

To those who don't like them, what other schools have unis you like? It's fairly clear they aren't going to do a classic style so that's pretty much off the table.

Coach mentioned in the press conference today that he's more traditional, but likes a little new style in it as well (pretty sure that's all the players influence.) I find these to be a good middle ground. Not too far into the pro combat/new styling and still a bit of traditional lines.

Also I don't know about the players sounding unexcited. They sounded excited to me. Idk

As far as next year, recruits have mentioned that they've been told we will be in UA

I hate the random piping. I love the shoulder stripes. If they just got rid of the piping, I think it'd be great.

I'll take "for those who don't like them" to mean me and maybe one other person. That's okay. I realize I may be part of a minority in my opinion on this matter. Understandable.

I like coach's choices with picking the unis and yes it is partial player influence as well as what he thinks recruits will like. I also agree with you they are good middle of the ground, for what he has to choose from. He could have moved the red and black all over the place like Western Kentucky did with their colors but he didn't he staid pretty conservative with these, which I understand why he did that. I don't blame him, he doesn't have much to work with, with Russell.

Yea, the players sounded somewhat excited. That's what I was trying point out. They weren't freaking out and jumping off the walls like you'll see in all the videos you can find on the revealing of teams new unis. Most locker rooms go berserk. Our guys like them cause their new and their not horrific. I just think their underwhelming and it seems like the locker room reaction was the same.

I just think Russell is so far behind the others. I know those players want Nike or whatever else, and I know the coaches do to...just have to wait till the contract is up.

Well, two thoughts. One, at least it doesn't look as bad as Maryland's last year. And two, I don't give a flip what the uniforms look like as long as they bring it on game day.

Agreed, sir! But hey, that's what these forums are for. Soap boxes for those who want to use them.

I agree with most of that. I wasn't taking a shot at you or anything, it was an open question. Just wondering what style others would prefer in the framework of what we would realistically do.

I think it's clear they went crazy for the black unis because those were so different (and all black).

As far as what WKU did, there is a good bit of differences. I hate their different colored shoulders. Also their little piping dip is goofy. On ours, I agree w/ raginsaints. I'd ditch the piping but really like the stripes (which WKU doesn't have)
