When I stated that they just as soon take their BEST shot...since they only get ONE...I meant that in the VAST majority of cases, that "best" shot would be to go after completing a FULL college career spent developing as much as possible. Then...when the time for that "shot" comes, they are best positioned to actually make it stick.
Now...in some cases would it mean less money up front? Possibly...maybe even probably. But if the point is to actually "make it", waiting would have given a better chance of doing just that. And many in the past have seemed to prove this point over and over.
