Thread: New Orleans Bowl not tired of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns

I talked with some bellman and merchants last year and learned this: In addition to the fact that our participation is a windfall, they have become fans. They know the program and follow us throughout the year. They have adopted us. These are football fans that typically follow the mainstream and support LSU, Bama, Notre Dame, Florida, etc. I know these fans are lost as easily as won. However, for the moment, when a recruit from NO mentions UL, people don't look at him like he's crazy. This is what we have accomplished by winning two NO Bowls.

Let's just run the table and go to New Orleans a couple weeks later!

Consequently, a thing like fanbase will become the driving force behind Bowl selection and Realignment.
---I still dream of the Catholic Bowl in the Dome against ND---Got my Ragin Cajun Catholic sign on my vehicle and just think it would be a great event!!! Could even have a mass before the game at St Louis Cathederal ---I will never forget mass letting out at Jesuit Church prior to the NO Bowl game against SDSU---The whole place was red --thought it was the mass of the Holy Spirit!!! lol

I know I will never get tired of going bowling. I love New Orleans, but I wouldn't complain about any bowl game we get invited too...

We sell Hotel/ticket packages to our fans and their fans. We make a deal with the dome for six years. It might be way easier to get a big opponent to New Orleans and the dome than to Cajun Field. It will also help improve our foothold in the New Orleans market. Selling ticket there, recruiting students and student athletes. Enlarging our fan base! Seems like a win/win to me! Hopefully some of our many alumni there will then start coming back to UL with season tickets and attendence. I would like to see us do a weekend baseball series at Zephyr field with three other teams playing 6 games in three days. Teams that will bring a crowd to New Orleans. Everybody wants a reason to go to New Orleans, lets attach to that and make that city our second home!
----And lets get the interstate !-49 completed even if it takes a toll road or some type of government private combo!!!

I like the idea.. I mentioned it a long time ago on the S.Miss board, the interest was mixed, but that was before the creation of the C-Belt Conf they are in..

If not S.Miss, maybe Mississippi State would play us in the Dome, now that would be great!!
