Thread: New Orleans Bowl not tired of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns

  1. Default New Orleans Bowl not tired of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns

NEW ORLEANS — Even after back-to-back postseason appearances by UL in the Big Easy, it seems apparent that New Orleans Bowl executive director Billy Ferrante wouldn't at all mind a third straight appearance by - should they become bowl-eligible yet again - the Ragin' Cajuns.

Does anybody in the Big Easy not want UL back---The rests, bars, strip joints, museums, hotels, t-shirt sales shops, gas stations, and even the news media ----and I think that the Houstons, Mobiles, Shreveporters, and more want part of the action----There should also be interest from any conference to a team that can draw this many to a bowl game!!!!

If we are going somewhere on a plane. I'd rather go to Nassau, than Jacksonville.

Im sure not tired of New Orleans Bowl. Honestly, New Orleans is the best city for a bowl game or any big sporting event. It helps that we are only 2 hours away. But either way, there are not many cities that you can travel to and not need a vehicle and enjoy all festivities.

As our program grows we will go other places but N.O. is a perfect place for us. If we can get an annual game in N.O. against a Big 5 opponent then, perhaps, going someplace else to play a bowl game would be OK. I think we need to play at least one game a year in N.O. whether it be a regular season game or a bowl game.

Mr. Boomer, I think a lot of what you and I believe should be of interest to other Bowl games and Conferences will become more important in the coming years.

For too long, the TV contracts have been driving the bus. Well, signs are beginning to point to the next round of TV contracts to be much less than they are now.

Consequently, a thing like fanbase will become the driving force behind Bowl selection and Realignment.

I have said it before, Many times, UL vs S. Miss, 6 years series: Home, Home, and New Orleans Then again Home, Home, and New Orleans, In those years that are Home games We schedule Auburn or Georgia or whoever will bring a crowd for a game in New Orleans. We sell Hotel/ticket packages to our fans and their fans. We make a deal with the dome for six years. It might be way easier to get a big opponent to New Orleans and the dome than to Cajun Field. It will also help improve our foothold in the New Orleans market. Selling ticket there, recruiting students and student athletes. Enlarging our fan base! Seems like a win/win to me! Hopefully some of our many alumni there will then start coming back to UL with season tickets and attendence. I would like to see us do a weekend baseball series at Zephyr field with three other teams playing 6 games in three days. Teams that will bring a crowd to New Orleans. Everybody wants a reason to go to New Orleans, lets attach to that and make that city our second home!

Surprise....the New Orleans bowl isn't tired of making a ____e ton of money and record breaking revenues. This is earth shattering news.

Both years, I had conversations with hotel and restaurant staff in NOLA and was told they much rather UL coming for a bowl game.

As a matter of fact, I think we should start petitioning Mitch Landrieu right now to appoint Joey Durel as NOLA mayor for the weekend next year.

They need to change the name of it from New Orleans Bowl to The Cajun Bowl and be done with it. UL automatic bowl tie-in. I can and will live with that.

I'm in NO now(Robert Plant was awesome last night), and the folks in the quarter were welcoming us back last night and this morning. They know what we bring for that weekend. The whole city wants us back.
