Posted on another thread, but I'll duplicate it here.
For those interested, there will be a Diamond Club Luncheon on Thursday, November 1st starting at 11:30am. It will be held at the Festival Ball Room at the . The typical member’s fee is $10, and non-members pay $20, but I've been told that everyone can participate for the $10 fee tomorrow. They'll also be taking payments for those who want to join the Diamond Club for next year as well.
During the season, it's typical for the coach to start speaking at noon, but from my understanding some of the player coaches for the Fall Ball World Series will be there as well and may handle some of the speaking as well. It's your chance to get the scoop on the returning and new players.
This is a team at the university that consistently provides a quality product, players and coaching staff, and shows the best of our university to the country. If you've never attended one of these luncheons, you're missing out.
The 45 members of UL's fall baseball team have been divided, and play begins tonight in the annual Fall World Series at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.
The best-of-seven series wraps up fall drills for the Cajun squad and gives head coach Tony Robichaux and his staff a last chance to evaluate players before a mandated cutdown to 35 active-roster players.
"That's the hardest thing about this," Robichaux said Thursday at the annual Fall World Series luncheon at the Cajundome Convention Center. "That's why we as coaches hope it goes seven games. We tell the umpires if it's a close play, we want it to go more games."
Making those decisions even harder heading into tonight's 6:30 p.m. series opener is a freshman class that has been a pleasant surprise since the start of fall practice. In fact, the four seniors serving as coaches for the Black team went heavily toward freshman picks in the underclassman draft earlier this week.

Looks like a premium pay site.... Can you summarize?
The Cajuns have signed three HS baseball prospects, two are rated in the top 250 in the country. Both will be drafted by MLB, just don't know how high.
