Once a punk, always a punk is my saying. Some of you guys are so desirous to keep the program a winner, you would be all for letting Bin Laden suit up if he could help the team.
Let the punks stay on the outside looking in. I think that Hud has enough integrity to make the right choice in this instance.
With his height and football IQ, I think he projects as a TE at the next level. Has a bit of a history of kidney problems, but still has the size and reach to be a gamechanger at the next level if he can put on some weight and keep it on. Ran a 4.6 40 at the combine in Islamabad and had a monster 35 inch vertical jump. Look for him to be a factor in the 2nd or 3rd round as the Patriots try to rebuild their TE corps with someone less tainted than Aaron Hernandez. - Mel Kiper Jr.
Somethings to ponder about Mackey (this coming from a Carencro Alum):
2005 - Sophomore at PORT SULPHUR High School - He transfered in to Carencro after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
2006 - Junior year he made All District Selection.
2007 - Senior year he made 5A State MVP. *had verbally committed to Tulane but chose Duke 2 days before NSD.
2008 - Starts all 11 games as true freshman for Blue Devils. Dismissed from school following the football season due to violation of unspecified team standards.
2009 - Transfers from Duke to Tulane saying,"I never did feel comfortable at Duke." Sits out year per NCAA rules.
2010 - Starts inside LB for Green Wave.- All Conference pick.
2011 - Starts inside LB for Green Wave - All Conference pick.
2012 - Arrested for Robbery in August of 2012 and did not play at all. *Sued the NOPD in the process.
2013 - Acquitted of charges, mutual agreement to leave Tulane - Seeking 6th year of eligibility.
IMHO - WE DON'T NEED HIM...
He did not start one game at Duke
But he was the returning CUSA defensive POY, until the arrest.
Whatever Hud wants to do......solved.
Yep. In HUD we Trust. I'm sure they would be given a very short leash.
