    It was great watching him play, even if it was only for a season. Best of luck to you Dex.

    Man this is shocking to say the least, but if it benefits him money wise than good for him.

    Obviously not the same situation, but it leaves me with a similar feeling to Les Smith departing.

    This is not good news, but we dodged major bullets when nobody was drafted. Random thoughts;

    The opportunities for a player to turn pro with an affiliated club are very limited, especially with new draft rules.

    They all wanted to be pro ballplayers way before they wanted to be Cajuns.

    I doubt he would have gotten close to $75K as a senior sign. Plenty of teams sign seniors for $5K.

    College players usually take the "bird in the hand", because the scouts tell them "in a year you might not be any better (especially after TJS) and we might like somebody else more than you".

    Dex has a chance of developing his speed and power and have a nice pro career. Good luck and Thanks, Dex.

    Yeah, the more I think about it. From, Dex's perspective it makes all the sense in the world. He's coming off a fantastic season. He gets college paid for, and his rehab is taken care off. Obviously, if he waited a year, maybe his signing bonus if much bigger. But, maybe he bats .200 next year.

    You never know.
