The design is almost identical to what we have now. It is just simplified with red and white and black trim, eliminating the yellow and organge colors. Because of that, it looks like Alabama's. The only thing I would change is to make the Louisiana larger than Ragin Cajuns, like Alabama has done. To use only the Ragin Cajuns logo does not identify our university. Our nickname needs to be tied to the university and we need to promote the Louisiana name with it.
The official name of Tech is Louisiana Tech University at Ruston. How would you feel if you had to start calling your university LTUR or LA Tech Ruston? I suspect your alumni would not be too pleased and would fight it to the point of ignoring it, which is what you do now.
If everyone does this in their everyday conversations, this issue will eventually fade.
I say "Louisiana" every chance I get to everyone I'm talking to. Many of my friends have started calling our university "Louisiana," even though they hate us. (Then why are we friends? Excellent question).
Stop saying UL. Stop saying "the Cajuns" when you talk to people. Just say "Louisiana" as easily as they say "LSU" or "Houston" or whatever.
That's really all that needs to be done to win this battle.
You are wrong, their name is Louisiana Tech University. Boomer started the At Ruston. You will not find at Ruston on the LTU website, nor the ULS website. If fact only schools name University of Louisiana must have the city tag. Not needed at Brokeback U, SLU, UNO, Nichols, Northwestern, or Grambling
No, its not, I recall the list you are thinking of, and it was not what you think it was. It was about rules which included potential name changes and the use of the city tags.
In any case it is WHAT it IS today. No amount of saying it ain't so is changing that.
