The running back competition will be very intriguing. Have we ever had running backs of this caliber competing for the starting job?

Wallace was a bust. I remember players likeTony Hills telling us during fall camp that Fenroy was stronger and better. He was real quiet, but good. The rest was history.
Spikes did not want to compete when Coach Hud came in.
Back to Wallace, 685 yards from 06-07. Dude was serviceable at best for a hyped three-star recruit. Also remember we almost lead the nation in rushing both of those years so there is no excuse. Dude was a bust.
If you look at his ypc he was almost as effective as fenroy. His 685 yards were based on limited snaps. He was as good as any rb we have now.
We will know "as good" after their careers wrap up.
On the other hand you are 100% correct, with two 1000 yard rushers in the lineup there are only so many touches to go around.
In my view one thing that stunted D.W's career was having to sit out spring football in (I think) 2008 to focus on academics.
If I am right (it may have been 07) the head start or momentum he gave the other players, was something he never recovered from, touches wise.

Hey Bustle didn't play him or Gautier---think they were very very good----I will never forget the screen pass that Wallace took to the house in the Spring game---That was talent---Fenroy couldn't break the long one because of lack of speed ---His quick/zero pro career showed that!!! BBBBBut thought Fenroy was a damn good back and don't mean to take anything away from his accomplishments!!!
