A year after Keiosha Felix disappeared, there's still no sign of the missing teen. New details, however, are coming from lawsuits two men connected with the case are pursuing.
This week, brothers Ronald and Leon Wilkerson filed federal lawsuits against the city of Duson, Chief of Police Frank Andrew, and the former Assistant Chief Gerald Credeur, who was fired by the city, accused of mishandling the investigation.
The lawsuits seek unspecified damages for wrongful imprisonment, lost wages and mental anguish, among other things.
The Keiosha Felix case has since been turned over to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, where there have been no big breaks in the case.
The two lawsuits allege Duson police arrested the brothers without probable cause. Ronald Wilkerson was charged with one count of simple kidnapping, and spent several days in jail. His brother, Leon, spent 51 days on kidnapping and rape charges.
The charges against both were dropped.
