July 2013: Phil Steele has UL playing Tulane in New Orleans Bowl

Not saying I wouldn't rather playing a Big 12 or SEC opponent in a bowl game. But, IMO beating teams from those conferences in the regular season increases your brand far more than beating them in bowl games.

I don't recall one non-BCS bowl upset of a small school over a large school over the last couple of years. I'm sure they happened though.

Imagine the Cajuns getting the opportunity that Northern Illinois had last year. Being in a BCS Bowl going against Florida State. Winning a game like that would be epic and go down in the history books. There are only going to be one or two of those in a year, and NI let that one get away. It doesn't even have to be a BCS Bowl, it could be a match between two ranked teams, the Cajuns and a BCS conference opponent. UL has to be ready to jump at the chance to raise the program to a level that is seen on a national scale. I have no doubt, that Coach Hud will get UL to such a game, and maybe more than one if he chooses.

Pretty sure SBC champ plays in NOLA Bowl this year unless they get into that special bowl like NI last year.

I am thinking I want the crown and, the obligatory NOLA Bowl In 2013. The UL crap schedule will deny us that special bowl.

The more choices we have the better and I think Coach Hud can make the right call that will be best for the overall program. 90%+ of posters here will agree. Ranking and conference of opponent, positive effect on our ranking, location, fan comfort, national exposure, impact on recruiting, and several intangibles will all come in finalizing this decision. What a fun thread this has become!

Braaah... the next trip to NO... I'm arranging a photo shoot of you and Hammer sitting out on Canal Blvd... toking on some stogies... sipping select libations... you with your sax axe... and Hammer guarding the street donations being dropped into your velvet lined sax case... complete with a sign that says, "Give this man your money or he will show you his hip surgery scars!". And then... as a show closer... I do a strip tease to you playing Careless Whisper on your sexophone... stripping down to my "Geaux Cajuns!" thong... while touristy onlookers scurry for front row position... slightly worried... devilishly intrigued... whether this grand specimen of over-aged delight... will pull the final string... and unrestrain... the crooked monkey.

I read his post w/o any problems----I guess we need to know why some can't follow these logical sequences---Anyway if the above mentioned would happen in NO next year I would love to bring my keyboard and do Cajun Roll-on with Z!!!!

In brief. last year, post NO Bowl, while our wives were getting ready for a night out, Hammer and I walked down from our hotel to Don Leoncio. We were not let in cause we had our own scotch and werent about to dump it out. We set up shop on a wooden bench at the corner of Magazing and Canal, center of the street next to the tracks, smoking stogies and talking to various Cajun fans that happened upon us at the stoplight of said corner.
Just 1 more and UL Grad@Hou happened upon us, and we spent a few minutes laughing, dickin' around and telling each other how ____ing great we were.
Now I had a hip replacement back in March, not because I am old, but because I wanted to be able to show everyone this cool ____ing scar I have. The pain and rehab were worth it because this scar on my left hip is the most bad ___ thing you have ever seen.
Now, I did not have my sax at that time, but J 1M is hoping that I bring it this year. My boy Hammer has a concealed carry permit so I sure as hell aint worried about anyone stealing any money thrown by passersby into my velvet lined sax case.
J1M, lives in a thong. No explanation needed. When he gets excited, it comes off. I have never had the pleasure of seeing the unfurling of the crooked monkey, but those that have say its a one for the ages.
Finally, George Michael is a huge, disgusting, tool... But "careless whisper" is a panty dropper, that sax opening is a moisture maker.
As for Boomer, my motto, his motto, any key, anywhere.
