Lafayette Consolidated Government has begun its construction project to upgrade two elevators in the Lafayette Parish Courthouse.
The project is causing delays at the courthouse, and courthouse officials urge the public to allow extra time for all appointments. On busy court days, the process to go through security, enter the building and get on an elevator will take longer than normal, and individuals should plan to arrive at least 30 to 60 minutes early in order to accommodate for the delays, according to LCG.
