Jake Elmore is expected to soon be added to the Astros’ 25-man active roster. Shortstop Marwin Gonzalez was optioned to Class AAA Oklahoma City on Monday. Elmore went 2-for-4 Monday for the RedHawks, raising his average to .300 during OKC’s 3-2 loss to Omaha. Elmore, 26, entered Monday with five home runs, 30 RBIs, 16 stolen bases and an .815 OPS. He’s able to play second base and shortstop and recorded 17 games at the latter with Arizona in 2012. Elmore’s promotion is not official.
