We will have a bad schedule this year. rated near the bottom last time I checked. DAMN YOU SUNBOLT!
nobody will care about our schedule when we win the sunbelt, nobody will care about our schedule when we are partying in new orleans with 50k people.
What do you mean "that's because"? What does our preseason ranking have to do with our future opponent ranking? If we're getting some preseason respect... we're getting some respect. Period. The higher we are in the collective opinion of sports media, the better chance our domination of this schedule places us closer to a top 50 or even a top 25 ranking.
And as far as claiming everyone you play is a "weak opponent"... you simply go out and prove that they are a weak opponent. The top IQ football fans usually catch on. Blathering idiot fans whose hearts and minds are with another program... they'll just smack their jackleg jaws like they always do.
#1 ranking lock
The better your starting number the fewer people you have to leap, or fewer that have to fall back. Of course this is an opinion as opposed to the BCS rankings an opinion as well but it counts. In any case you hit it on the head, your rank is YOUR rank, your opponents rank is THEIRS. I fully get that if we were in the SEC, Big XII our rank would still be near the bottom of those schools, but that is not relevant to this.
I think that was the entertainment value poll. Even in that poll I think our two bad games last year, and bad defense hurt the entertainment value.
Cajuns to have five difficult wins this year, and of course anything is possible but highly unlikely to lose on the rest. Clearly KSU, and ARK are two. Then we will have WKU, ASU, and the Hoax wanting revenge.
