Misread the schedule, so we have a couple of upsets we have to make.
Boomer, glad to see others finally realizing that Big 12 is the way to go. Last year when I came down, the time you saw me buying food, I had stopped at Southern Miss to see Rickey (Bustle). I bet him then that we would be in the Big 12 within 5 years.
With the Master Plan in place, football on the up rise, and it looks like all other sports moving up, especially men's basketball based on players coming in and our international superstar. Big 12 will also give our softball program new challenges and don't forget will give the Big 12 a foot hole in SEC territory.
Now with need Scott to do his job, if he can.
UL has no chance whatsoever at getting into the Big 12. Tulane would get in long before UL would, and Tulane has absolutely no chance of that happening either. There is something else that is a possibility though, and that is for UL to bypass CUSA altogether and gain membership in the AAC. This is something that has a chance of actually happening. Instead of embracing a pipe dream of Big 12 membership, I would hope that our administration is working to sell UL to the AAC university presidents right now.
It is Sunday Oiler so try and be positive---Every time you post it is something we can't do ---We can't bring the largest following in the country to a bowl game---we can't go to 2 regionals in Basketball in a row----We can't go to the WCWS on occasions, we can't go to and host regionals in baseball----We can't go to regionals with an at large bid in WBB---Well we have done all these things with a half ___ design for even getting there----Actually the Big 12 would be very proud of those feats that we have accomplished in the last 10 years or so---Get in the parade or get out of the way!!!! BOOMER's RAGE for this Sunday!!!! I tell you this pace maker is keeping me "UPBEAT" lol
I agree the Big 12 may not be the way to go.If we can get on the AAC - West, we have a winner. Road games to Dallas,Houston, Tulsa, Memphis and of course NOLA! I really think we could compete in the AAC now! We need to get to tier one status ASAP. We may also need a more experienced AD, that can sell the program and university.
17-20 million dollar budget. That is the issue for us. We need to have at least 25-30 million to even get some attention. A 30 million budget tells other conferences that we are not muchers and we can sustain our selves. Winning seasons outside of basketball in the spring along with the master plan, we should hear a lot more from the Cox building. Again, no RCAF tour to rally support and spread the word. The new brading of "Louisiana Ragin Cajuns" should be big news. We have to build a wide base of supports that are willing to try/donate to the RCAF at a smaller level. Once you have them, keep giving a great product and the money will increase. STOP TRYING TO CHASE BIG FISH IN A VERY SMALL POND.
New today, LTU at # 65. So sorry Skippy and papa Lou.
Kent State at # 64, Cajuns ever closer to the fifties. Thinking we will beat out ASU as they lost their star quarterback, and in spite of what Red Wolves fans think he was good for two or three monster plays a game. When he did not make them, they lost.
Side note to budgets. Today thirty million is not getting what it did five years ago. We need forty or better, yep we need to over double our current budget, then it will be worth seventy or more in the Big XII.
