Thread: Orlando Sentinel Countdown (So Far)

  1. Default Orlando Sentinel

Running reverse order---Tulane 114---S Miss 107----Monroe 76----UL and Tech still not called to a position----the longer the better!!! I do remember these and other rankings 2 years ago!!!!--------Ahead of about 16AQ teams----If we could keep this trend and the Ws with the attendance, facilities, RCAF funding, and local and alum support we could be a Big12!!! A lot of ifs but 32K plus an additional guest by everyone is BIG 12ish!!!

  2. Default Re: Orlando Sentinel

I think we were ranked 69th last year Boomer. Ahead of LTU, TooLame, ULM, and behind Ark State.

I work in Houma as an engineer (UL Mechanical Engineering Graduate) and I am bringing 4 people with me to the first home game. Also, I work with people who have kids that go to Vanderbilt High and they talk about McGuire with a lot of excitement. If he works out, we will gain some fans from the Houma area because they will want to see their hometown player. Here is a good collection of his highlights. Very nice!

--------------WOW---I had kept asking if he ran track and I couldn't even get a 40 time on him------BUT he might be as good of a prospect as I have ever seen---We could see some "Cajun Cat" with him at the Cajun---love the reverse direction double linemen pulling scheme----just thinking how b-ball had to keep him out the weight room and if he played Spring sports----It is now official that Terrebonne Parish is part of Acadiana---if we get the lineman for S LaFourche maybe we claim that too!!! Thanks for the great video!!!

Good to know that he did qualify. From what I hear, he was working really hard to graduate this year. If this guy looks half as good in college as he did in high school, he will be a standout player. What a fall camp this will be for the starting running back position! A stable of great running backs and a quarterback who can run will make the UL ground attack nothing short of lethal.

You are welcome Boomer! I was amazed when I watched this. So many awesome moves and often he had many great moves in the same game! When this guys gets on the news in Houma after UL football games, people from that part of the state will be showing up at Cajun Field. If he does work out and becomes a big part of the team, he will not only be a big gain for the team, but a cultural connection that will further expand the Ragin' Cajun Nation into that part of the state!

Well now with Darryl Johnson of MC and McGuire we can get I-49 done through Patterson!!!! lol Those poor guys that are stuck in Ruston from St Mary parish have to be in misery!!!

So Boomer WKU came in at number 67 yesterday. Feeling like we will be a lot better somewhere in the 35-50 range.

Looks like the only team we might be rated below to start the season will be Arkansas, or possibly Ark State. Second game with Kansas who came in at 110.

I also noted ECU who we beat in the NOLA Bowl at 69. Wondering how much they lost? If not too much our number might come up a lot sooner than I am thinking we should be.
