LSU starting 1B/2B Vanessa Soto has transferred to UL to play softball.

She will bring senior leadership to this team, that was very young and inconsistant last year.

She will have a hard time finding playing time considering Lacey Bertucci will be back at 1B and Melissa Verde will be at 2B, but I am sure coach will find a spot for her, considering her .985 feilding percentage and her .280 batting average.

Ragincajuns.com hasn't posted anything about Soto as far as I can tell. But we did have this on Fox News LA last night! I hope we broke it ahead of the sports information dept. releasing anything on their site. :-)

Melissa Verde played 3rd base last year, did you go to the games? We need someone consistent at 2nd base, that is where we struggled last year. This is a great addition.

Some of us had to sit on the news as per request. But, the final decision to allow Soto to transfer was AD David Walkers. But we have very good player transfering in from another Louisiana program.

Hmmm, I wouldn't go there! They were kicked off for certain things that were allowed in that program, until the recent crack down by the LSU Administration.
