Thanks Turb... I had a feeling it had something to do with their hitting, but wasn't sure. I was glad to see Cuevas get a start and she pitched very well. Got to be happy for her with all she went thru this year after her injury.

And the other comment wasn't accurate, it was stupid.

Man, that Hall of Fame should be filled with softball players. In fact, it should probably have more softball players than players from any other sport. These girls have had a long legacy of success both on the field and in the classroom.

Well said. If one needs to look up scholar athlete at UL, look up softball. Loads of talent in and out of the class room. I really like the idea that a number are now in coaching. Looks like this new crop of freshmen are no exception.

bourgeois struggled against houston?!? she gave up 2 runs and the offense didn't help any that game.

the coaches know what they are doing.

Rob, Houston left 10 on base. She walked five batters and had only 1 so. As Turbine stated, with Houston's hitting approach she was not a good matchup.
    Bourgeois, Donna.... 6.0 8 2 2 5 1 24 30 119

Coash Lotief (m) said that Houston struggled more with rise ball pichers and did better against sinker ballers... true or not? who am I to say.. Thats' THEIR job....Seems to me they are doing it pretty well... Donna will have a key role in our march to a National Championship....

Wella when you have someone who has no-hit Houston and someone who has 2-hit Houston the gal who pitched the two hitter struggled.

Hell I'll take that kind of struggling this weekend.

  9. UL Softball Soto sparking Lady Cajuns’ run to World Series

LAFAYETTE — For the past two weeks, University of Louisiana second baseman Vanessa Soto has spent the better part of the time discounting the significance of the achievements unfolding before her.

First, there was Soto’s .538 average and five RBIs during the Ragin’ Cajuns undefeated run through the Baton Rouge regional — complete with a 6-3 victory over No. 9 national seed LSU, where Soto spent the first three years of her career.

“It didn’t have anything to do with the fact that you’re playing LSU,” Soto said. “I was just trying to help my teammates. I could have gone 0-for the entire weekend and my teammates had my back.”

A week later, Soto was back at it again, going 5-for-11 with a pair of homers and three RBIs, to help UL-Lafayette advance to its fifth Women’s College World Series, taking a third and deciding game 4-0 at No. 8 seed Houston.

    The rest of the story

Just cant leave LSU out of this can you? dude LSU should not even be mentioned on this page today with all that Cajun fans have to be thankful for.

Yet, there are entire threads committed only to complaining about LSU or BR.

Did you ever think that this makes Cajun fans look petty, envious and small?

Just a thought and congrats to the Lady Cajuns on a fine season.

"Dude".... my comments regarding Soto cant help but bring back the circumstances surrounding how she came here and how she became a part of this family...

"Dude"... my other comments regarding the "mistake" were on a thread regarding the media coverage of the Cajuns.... "Dude" I stand by those comments as the steady drumb beat is that WE have a civic responsibility to support the "mistake" but when the tables are turned the same logic does not apply....

    "Dude" go away
