Couple of things, her bat got much better in 2007 than 2006, don't have the 2005 rating. Also nice fielding average.

Could the Soto/Brodhead transfers be possibly the worst kept secrets in recent history?
LOL!
Wasn't Brodhead the only Cowgirl who hit Cuevas consistently last year?
Glad to have em' aboard.

Does anyone know what route Tayl'r Hollis is gonna go? I find it kinda odd that Soto is coming and nothing about Hollis being that Hollis is actually from Lafayette. then again, I'm not sure how the scholarship stuff will break down and what position she plays and the competition for said position. It does seem though that the two were very good friends and would like to stay together, so I don't know if we could capitalize on that.
Everyone is way off on all these transfers. Vanessa Soto was kicked off of LSU's softball team. She is not from Mcneese or anywhere else. Brooke Brodhead is the transfer from Mcneese and is nothing more than average. A few other players that are being brought into the program are very questionable and to be quite honest the team chemistry will be very non existant this year. The only plus going for the team is the near perfect pitcher coming in. She better live up to the hype.
Brooke Brodhead is far from average. You should research her stats before speaking out
2007 (Junior): Avg. .370, Hits 70, Runs 44, 2B's 13, HR's 12, SLG%.640, & FLD% .959
2006 (SOPHOMORE): played in 51 games, started in 50...led the team with seven sacrifice bunts...tied for a team high 43 hits...161 at bats, 13 RBI's and 10 walks...tied for second on the team with 25 runs scored...second on the team with 11 doubles...All-SLC honorable mention.
2005 (FRESHMAN): played and started in all 69 games...fifth on the team with a .257 batting average...led the team and the Southland Conference with 48 runs scored...collected 58 hits, 14 doubles, 30 RBI's and eight home runs...had a .867 fielding percent...broke the single season runs scored record...had a 14 game hitting streak...tied SLC Tournament records in runs scored (7), hits (10), doubles (3) and total bases (19)...SLC all-tournament.
HIGH SCHOOL: prepped at Teurlings Catholic where she was a four year letterwinner as a shortstop...was a member of one state championship team and two state runners-up teams...four-time first team all-district...member of four district championship teams...three-time all-state selection...district MVP...All-Acadiana... cousin of former McNeese football standout Britt Brodhead.
No one stated that Soto transfered from McNeese State, nor did anyone mention that she was not dismissed from LSU.
Average? Compared to whom? Broadhead is a solid infielder.
A bit premature on your part don't you think? And the bases for your forecast of team poor chemistry is based upon your vast knowledge on how this staffs manages its' athletes? Just because another another program had problems with team chemistry, doesn't mean this staff cannot manage their athletes.
Really, so living up to her hype would be coming in and shouting out Texas, Arizona, LSU or Alabama? If that is your measure of success, then you might be disappointed! I don't believe anyone that follows collegiate softball, would have made such statements. All freshmen have their struggles, so will this athlete.
My question to you is, what is your agenda here? You have made some broad assumptions, and I really don't think you know what you are talking about.
I know and talk to multiple girls on the softball team. No I do not have a problem with UL softball. Average is correct. She led a horrible team. Mcneese is worse than horrible. They play nobody. Her stats are inflated. The chemistry will be horrible. Mark my word. I don't write on here often but ya'll are making this out to be the best thing since sliced bread. Just bringing ya'll back to earth.
Well I know and talk to the Coaches ,and I can assure you none of the athletes that have talked to you will cross that line. Regardless of what they have told you behind the scenes, they all know that athletes and parents do not run this program. The Lotiefs have assured the administration that these new additions will not disrupt this program. I'm sure these athletes you have spoken to are aware of how these situations are handled. IF they want to be part of this program, they will show up for fall ball ready to compete."I know and talk to multiple girls on the softball team. Just bringing ya'll back to earth."
Me thinks I smell the odor of someone who mucks out the veterinary stalls at the "flagship school."
This guy ain't for real. He may claim to be an expert. I claim he is an exspurt, a has been that operates under pressure.
No one said Soto was not kicked off of LSU and no one said she was from McNeese. Also, everyone said Brodhead was coming from McNeese, at least on this board. What was said on the street is something different. As far as chemistry is concerned, it is up to the team leaders to have that become a positive.
