Default Difference Between 5 Year Recruiting Rankings and 5 Year Overall Power Ranking

This would be more interesting in a context where coaches stayed in their jobs longer than they do now. Five years may be too long for the numbers to be very meaningful. I would hate to think what our figures would look like here if it were not for Hud.

That's a very cool analysis of schools that are playing at a higher level (or a lower level) than their recruiting suggests.

Some of that clearly goes toward recruiting character over athletic talent (Army, Navy, Air Force, BYU, etc vs. UCLA, Memphis, Colorado, Miami, etc).

Some likely has to do with quality coaching (Boise, Wisconsin, etc)

Some is likely due to over-rated recruits (bias toward west coast, bias of agencies towrard bigger schools, etc)

    Any other theories?
