Just confirmed through @ULRaginCajuns that Elfrid Payton has made the 12 man roster for Team USA U19 Championships in Prague later in June.
Elfrid Payton may have been one of the last players invited to the USA Basketball U19 tryouts this week, but that proved to be no indication of his ability to impact the team. Payton was named late on Monday night as one of 12 players that will represent the United States in the FIBA World Championships. The championships will be played from June 27-July 7 in Prague, Czech Republic.
Congrats dude---Now go make us even more proud of you!!!---So our starting lineup in EP, Mbubala, LOng, Vieux or Davenport and Shepherd????

Huge news for Elfrid. By the judgment of Jim Boeheim, Billy Donovan and several other high level coaches, these are the 12 of the best basketball players in America that are 19 and under.
Bodes well for Elfrid's draft chances.
Very proud to be a Cajun fan right now. Elfrid works his but off in the class room and on the court. This is well deserved!

As a forward? I kid, I kid....
Congrats to Elfrid, great honor for him and our program!
